wait, GEICO told YOU how much the damages are? Is that even legal? I thought you had to get estimates from a few shops and present them to the insurance company. What if Geico tells you it's $1400 to fix, but actual shops tell you it's more like $2800 because to get to this, you have to remove that, while that was off, we saw that this was broken, etc.

Whatever... I mean, even a CAVEMan can do it...

if the shop quotes more than the geico inspector said they will just give them more money...or thats how i understood it.

That's not too weird. The insurance company always has their person give out an initial quote and then once you take it to a qualified repair shop (on their list), if things show up that they didn't catch or it turns up to be more then they pay the difference. Been thru it several times!
