Revolver Shackles

Soooo...anybody have any experience with Revolver Shackles? Are they worth the investment?

Hey, Old Fart, what is your opinion on Revolver shackles? You obviously don't like them. Could you elaborate as to why?

I have seen them in the snow and they allow to much wheel hop. On a YJ, then guy would just get stuck. I would not use them.

For Old Fart his suspension just wouldn't allow them to open up at all unless he lifted the front of the Jeep with a jack.

Waste of money. Articulation without weight on the wheel doesn't get you much. Also wheel hop increases dramatically as does the propensity towards broken driveline u-joints.

Even worse, when used up front, the revolvers tend to "unload" as the weight transfers backward when climbing steep hills, which makes the front end push off rather suddenly. This can have disasterous results. I've seen it happen.

No, they were the YJ gimmick of the '90's.

Works great on a RTI, but in real life, cause too many issues to be worthwhile.
