  • 3" Pro Comp Lift and ES3000 shocks

I have a 93 Wrangler with 3" pro comp and ES 3000 shocks. I have had numerous chevy trucks with the same setup and they never rode this rough, can anyone shed a light on why its riding horribly. granted i just bought the jeep 2 weeks ago so i have not done much to it yet. its only got a 4 banger in it, could this be the problem. Please Help

I don't have a ProComp on the Jeep but have one on my 1ton Diesel and all I can say is ......"Please pass the kidney belt". But then again it's a 1ton. I did however change the ProComp shocks out from the ES5000 to some Ranchos and the ride seem to get a bit better. Maybe try to change out the shocks.

    Just an idea.....

I ran those shocks for a couple of weeks on a previous jeep (TJ) and found the same thing. Took them back and ordered out Doetsh Tech shocks and it was a transformation. Any basic shock will work better, the procomp shocks have equivalent damping to a Rancho 5000 which are stiff for a half ton pickup truck (had those too on a Dodge quadcab).

Seems the leafs do ride harder so I would think a softer shock would be an advantage in improving ride.

Adjustable shocks are good too if you want to spend the extra $$.

        X2

I went with the Bilstein 5100 in the rear. Big difference. Switch em out and be happy.
