Thanks to you all for your input. I’ve posted a few question threads over the last three or four months as a complete nube that were answered by you all – and enabled me to completely mod my ’03 TJ successfully. Here’s a run-down of the modifications; if anyone wants feedback on my experience I’ll gladly share with any of you what I’ve learned.
Old Man Emu 2.5 HD springs & shocks
JKS front adjustable track bar
OME rear track bar relocation bracket
Rear extended bump stops
Teraflex quick disconnects
Teraflex 1” body lift
JKS 1” motor mount spacer lift
32x11.50x15 BFJ AT KO’s
1.25” wheel spacers (so I could continue to use 15x8 stock Canyons with 5.5” backspacing)
Being the first time I ever attempted anything like this, the time involved was probably more than it should have been. Lots of hunting around, trial & error, running to Lowe’s, Advance Auto, AutoZone, etc, etc. The springs, shocks, rear bumpstop extensions, quick discos, front adj. track bar & rear track bar relocation installs took about nine or ten hours total. The body lift and motor mount lift installs took about six hours total. The wheel spacers took about three hours (took extra time to get the hub/rotor area nice and shiny – lots of build-up in there to get out for a nice smooth mating surface). I know, turtle speed – but I do feel it was done right at least. The write-ups one has access here and other places on the web were extremely useful for this first-timer.
Thanks again for everyone’s input. Here are some pics of the install and a recent post-mod outing:
