  • Bump Stop size

So when I finally do lift the TJ 3 or 4 inches to clear the new 33s in the garage. Are there any rules for size bump stops to add in to prevent u-joint binding? Is it inch for inch? Thanks for your time folks!

there is a formula, I think. However, I dont know what it is. If you want to learn about how to set it up do the following:

jack the Jeep up and put stands on the frame, droop the axle and remove the springs ( you may have to remove the shocks to droop it all the way), if you had to remove teh shock reinstall them now. Then jack the axle up til the tire hits or the shock bottoms out, measure and buy the proper bumpstop extentions. You'll probably want to add 1/4-1/2" to the bump stop length to account for compression, so you dont bottom out the shocks.
