  • Coil spring clips....

    Damn them for not coming standard with coil spring clips...damn them.

    I used the [ sized ] tag so people without widescreen monitors could see the pics comfortably that sucks! how long are those springs?

      I think he has a 3" lift on his LJ.

          Its not the spring's fault, or even Jeep's fault, its whoever set up the suspension and their lack of attention/knowledge/etc. You need shorter shocks or limit straps. Clips are a band-aid, so are limit straps (in this situation).

          at least nothing got damaged. :cactus:

              If the spring don't come loose from overtravel, how can it flop?

              Besides, generally the issue is that incorrectly extending the upper bumpstop cup angles it forward. Typically done by suspension manufacturers with their heads up their butts. That pushes the bumpstop into the inner side of the front coil and when the axle droops, the spring hangs up and clangs around when it pops loose.

                uh... limit straps are band aids, but shorter shocks are OK??!!??
