  • YJ: I know what that clunking sound is!

Well I'm out cleaning the Jeep tonight before a run in the morning and while cleaning and doing a once over I notice this! Rear passenger side upper shock mount is ripped off the frame and the eyelet is ripped. This is the spot where we used the relocating brackets, but the factory spot is what ripped off. Always something to work on.

Have I metioned how badly I need a Job!

I whipped the shock off of there and I'll tri-pod it tomorrow. I promised Ken, my mechanic, that I would not get air on the
hoop-de-do's until the shock was remounted!

Kirk: It's only 103' tomorrow in Lucerne. So it's just a little exploring trip. Should be about 64' inside the mines.

Ron: Hmmmm...... Silicone......ah, what were we talking about? Sorry my mind was wandering again.

If you can get it to Anza, I'll weld it and patch it up.

Yeah, heard it was gonna be a steamer out your way...not my idea of jeepin weather, but just the same, have fun in the mines. It's nice that the earth keeps those mines insulated for us spalunkers:thumbs_up

I got the joke, I think that you missed mine!

David: If I came down there, I would need to stay for a week so that I could wheel all of the cool trails you run! I need to have Borrego on my list for sure. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the offers. As I continue to learn about these Jeeps, todays lesson was that I didn't even notice the missing shock! Let me see which way I go with this and thanks again everyone.

Quick and easy fix this morning at the mechanics house. Good to go, and back on the trail.

                              Thanks again for the offers.
