Some don't care about body damage short or long arm, just want to wheel hard. Trust me... Or ask how many miles Jeep Virgin has on his. LOL He always makes me feel better about my junk!

the length of the control arms has nothing to do with how easy the spring is compressed. that has to do with the spring rate. the reason there are pics of guys with LAs flopped over/with body damage is because we actually use our rigsjust kidding. the reason that have body damage is because i could care less about body damage. and it pulls chicks. haha

Ya, that's why I got that lift...to be able to compare my rig with Becca's! After driving her Jeep, I am looking into getting me some twin sticks!!! HEHE!

    x2

in this case, I think its the driver that gets you from point A to point B not the bling bling you put in your heep.

I had the RE 4.5" long arm kit on before the TV show redid my Jeep. They put on the new ProComp 4" dual sport long arm kit. It is brand new out this year and is 10 times better than my RE lift. It handles better on the road for normal driving, is awesome in the sand, rock crawling, and desert racing. You can hit the whoops at 40 mph desert racing and fly right over them! The amount of articulation is awesome and there is less of an off-camber feeling.

Malachi went out and got the same lift.

I dont know of anyone that goes out to Johnson Valley/The Hammers with long arms. Not that the articulation isnt great, but its just one more thing to get hung up on.

I have been through the "jeepable" Hammer trails in JV regularly and I see mostly the short arms "hanging up" due to the fact they get caught on the mounting point on the frame. Get a good LA kit that is high and out of the way, even the real low mounted RE kit will slide somewhat on the rocks, it's mostly the belly that stops them due to the low under frame mounting. I have hit my LA's at times however never stopped by them, usually the diffs that stop the jeep. And like pointed out earlier, the LA handles and drives on the road tons better!!

a loose spring does nothing for performance. just gives you a false sense of security. that guy needs limit straps bad.

I do recommend installing limit straps if you are going either way. If the shock breaks........ You have a spring that will come out.

I've been running around that place for two years with long arms. There have been two situations where i have been unable to bump myself over because of the arms. I'll take the ride quality and "getting hung up" any day over the jacking and horrible ride of short arms.

besides, look at all the sweet broken shock flex! can;t get that with short arms! haha
