I don't know of another source, but when I was researching them, there were a lot of forum posts about building their own. I'm not a fabricator, so I couldn't do that. It was too expensive for me to flip them.

Another cheaper and easier option would be the ubolt skids.

Do a post search at cjoffroad.com and at jeepsunlimited.com in their CJ section. Can't tell ya what you'll find in the YJ section, because I didn't search there.

        Good luck.

are you lookin' to do the front or rear?
the rear is easy... the front takes a bit of work because of the interference with the diff.

                they worked great.
i used them until very recently when i went to coil-overs.
i never had any trouble with them.
the front was not a u bolt flip. i just streamlined the mount a bit, and brought the bolts up out of the rocks.

i'm not sure of the manufacturer, but there is someone making something similar to this ^^^^ for the rear of your jeep.

the top plate on this ^^^^ is 3/8" thick plate with 1/4" thick tube cut to keep it seated correctly on the axle tube.
it is heavy material, but it worked well and kept up with the heavy torque i put on it to keep from breaking the centering pins.

the bottom plate is 3/16" steel with 3/8" thick pieces welded to it to keep everything located as i wanted it, and act as a skid of sorts for the u bolts.

it worked great for a few years, and took a hell of a lot of abuse.

let me know if you have any questions on this and i'll do my best to answer them for you.

                    Ray,

I did a run today with "Dirtman13" (Chuck) and he has u-bolt skids under his leaf springs. They look clean and offer lots of protection. I hit the threads and bent a couple of my u-bolts today (along with my diffs, my shock mounts...) and plan to buy 4 of these from "4 wheel parts" very soon. This is an easy fix for me cause I'm not the creative / fab kinda guy.
