  • changing valve guides??

Im thinking my valve guides are bad. is that a big job?? im still puffing occasional whiteish smoke. also, wouldnt a bad ring cause sloppy idle. just trying to eliminate things.

A little more diagnosis would prob be a good idea. Try a compression test to see if rings and valves etc... are OK

could be something with the fuel/air mixture. i know when i was tuning out my CJ i got to a point where i had puffs of smoke and a really rough ideal.
