  • Lifting body off frame?

How difficult is it to lift a TJ body off the frame and roll the chassis out from under? My frame is getting bad looking and I want to clean everything up and maybe Rhino it or something along those lines before the snow/cold hits. Are things like fuel and brake lines attached to the body of frame?

Crawl underneath and you'll quickly see enough hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and fuel line connections between the frame and tub to make you forget about removing the tub for that minor reason.

Agreed! But you can still clean her up right nice with a HP washer, a wire brush and some elbow grease. I clean mine about once a month to keep rust from forming... owned too many Jeeps when Amercian Motors was building 'em...

:hijack: since everyone has said the same thing im going to ask a quick question. I have a slight bend in my frame now after a run in with a telephone pole...its on the passanger side forward of the shock mount. Is this a huge deal?

Check your alignment and have the thrust angles checked for the rear too. That'll tell you if it's serious or not.
