I've got the cheap $80 eBay special... they only lasted me about a year... I've got a crack I can't see, but one I can definitely hear. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do at this point either. I've done a lot of reading and found that they all crack... banks/borla/eBay/factory... I don't know what to do!!!

I've used the JBA headers on my 4cyl YJ for about 2 years and 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with good results......

They don't all crack Mat, my replacement headers the dealer installed for me before my warranty ran out have over 130,000 miles on them and they're still fine. Three previous headers cracked that they installed but they were all the old design without the two sets of flexible bellows added to where it cracks. Mine are the newer factory design with the two flexible bellows that came out in late '99 or so and they're fine.

My 'eBay special' ones have the flexible bellows. Is there a big difference between the factory ones, and the ebay (same as the sponsored JeepForum) ones?

You got me Mat but there must be some kind of difference as yours failed so quickly and my factory header has so many miles on it.

Luck? I'll buy the factory one to replace it and see what my luck is like. For now, I've just been turning up the radio.

              Thanks Jerry!!!

People know why the both happen.

Headers crack: Bad design that doesn't do well w/ expanding when heating, contracting while cooling, and therefor cracks.

Death wobble: Many reasons, but usually track bar, out of balance tire, worn bushings, bad caster, etc. People may not know exactly what causes a specific case of it, but they can be remedied.

I replaced the cracked stock header with a Doug Thorley header. It was well made and fitted perfectly but it cracked in about 3 years. I tried to get it repaired but it was hopeless. I have now switched to the Banks Torque Tube which is holding up so far (6 months)
