Wheels and tires on a 97 TJ, how big can I go?

I have a 97 TJ with no lift kit...I know, I know, I'm working on it. However, for the time being, I am looking for some real nice winter/all terrain tires and some wheels to match, but I do not know how big I can go on a stock Wranger. Do I need to stick with 15 inch rims and 235/75/15 in tires until I add a lift kit? Any advise is welcome.....Thanks

YUP YUP...hes right...you need to consider 15x8s if you plan on going any bigger, you probably have 15x7's. Try AR767's, black steel rims, the poor mans way out, about $40 ea

Where are you? I've got 5 new 31 x 10.5 MTRs (well 1 trip to last chance), we are going to put the TJs 33s on the CJ and my TJ will get new 35s, along with some other stuff.

Yes, but they won't bolt up to a CJ bolt pattern
