  • Removing Fender

I'm going to start my tube fender install tomorrow. Looks pretty straight forward, but one question. I want to remove the whole fender in one piece and leave the fenderwell. It looks like they are spot welded accross the top where they attach to each other. I was thinking of running an air chisel to seperate the seam. After this and bolt removal it looks like it should come right off. Anyone ever do this? I really don't want to hack the fender up like reqiured with PSC fenders. Any suggestions will be helpfull

    nice doggie

take a look at my tube fender thread

    http://www.myjeeprocks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5808

I left the tack welded seam on the inner fender and made a cut leaving about 0.5 - 2" of material. The tube fender dropped on top of this lip and I bolted through.

Take a look at the thread if you need more info just ask.

Thanks aston. I remember viewing your post when you were doing that. Nice job. I did one side this morning. Tried to save the fender, and bought myself a bunch of headaches and still booggered it up. The other side I will do it the way you did and save the time a head scratching. Thanks.
