My 20 gal gas tank is now a 15 gal

...time to buy a bash plate

Has anyone tried the trick of pressurizing the tank to try and restore it's original shape?

that's the YJ plastic type :yay:

I have heard that the plastics ones pop back to shape fairly easily once you pull the skid plate off.

When we replaced the smooshed stock skid plate with our Kilby, we regained our missing 2 gallons. The TJ's plastic tank just popped back out out on it's own.

More worrisome is whether the carnage bent the pickup tube up from the bottom of the tank. Then the last 1/4 of a tank can't be sucked up. We was fortunate.
