this is gonna be interesting...to say the least...looks like someone has hacked up the wiring...i have a yellow wire goin to the positive side of my coil...the splices into a red one...i am sure is the original wire...and a green one...the green one seems to go to a diagnostic center of some sort but i didn;t think an 87 had one...it is carb'd after all...

not only that but they seems to like to cover splices with duct tape...

seems like i am about to get into an adventure...when it;s done...i'm sure we'll laugh because undoubtedly i will cut myself...shock myself...and probably run over my foot...ok maybe not run over my foot but i'm sure if it can be done i'll do it...

ok i think i ran into my first issue...on the diagram there is a violet wire that you will run to the ign mod...i see on the stock side there is an extra wire...is that the one it goes to...cause mine looks like it does not plug into anything...or at least there is no pin for it on the mod side...

                first issue...

i traced the orange and violet wires back under the dash...behind the glove box...the ecu i am assmuming...the ign module i gather is under the overflow bottle on the fender...this pigtail has 3 green wires and no fourth wire...just a plug...

anyone have insight...all i need to do is slice these wires and i'm good to go...

ok i got it figured out...the fourth wire i can just bypass the connector...now i know why i needed more wire...and the ign module is color coded...not the body wiring harness...it;s different...sorry for wastin space...but maybe someone else can use this for theirs...learn from my ignorance...thanks guys

I'm hoping to do the TFI conversion in a few weeks, so your input is much appreciated.

so i got it together just in time to drive it to work...my first impression is not bad...it won;t pull down a house or get me into the 10's at the track...but it certainly pulls itself down the road...now i just gotta clean up the engine compartment and it'll be golden...i had to reset the timing aswell...it did not want to stay started when i started it the first time...ifi ever do another...it'll go much smoother...
