I run the coffe pot, tools, etc., off of the Premier welder (120V DC), and have a small 300w invertor for charging camera batteries and such.
Anything approaching 2kW (12V) starts to get pretty impressive in the feeder conductor size. I had a buddy who wanted to stick a 3kW invertor in his WJ - in the rear. When I sized the cabling for load and voltage drop, he was looking at running 4/0 welding cable (and the calc actually dictated 250kcmil)
