    Hardware

Can't go wrong with Grade 8 Bolts nuts and washer. That is what is holding on my bumper winch and hooks. They have been there for the past 6 years and has seen plenty of rough service.

        Um... not a hi-jack... again.

I always seem to have a question on top of somone else's question.

Aren't hex bolts (the ones you need an allen wrench to use) grade 8 by default? My father once told me this, but he's a lil loony sometimes.

yup.... they are normally harder than a standard bolt, the standard is Class 8.8 wich would be about a grade 3ish... sounds like grade 8 but isn't!! Up to class 12.9 that's around a grade 8.

As for bumpers and most fastners on my Jeep, everytime I have needed to replace a bolt i just bought a grade 8 replacement, gotta love that finish

More than you could ever want to know about fasteners.
