Best place to get u-joints?

Looking for the best place to get dana-spicer u-joints. The local autoparts stores always seem to only carry "their" brand or some brand I have never heard of.

Can be on-line, that does not bother me.

i get mine at quadratec a few at a time, and keep some spares.

Napa either carrys or can get spicer 760 joints, just tell them what you want and the part number. You will pay the price for them, however.

You don't specify what u-joint your are looking for....axle shaft, driveshaft ??

Open the yellow pages, and look for a driveline shop. Call them and ask what brand of joints they use, and can you buy a few. They may not mark-up the parts that much.
Another thing to consider...most auto places offer "lifetime" warranties on their parts. If you find a place that will offer this same warranty for Dana joints, you are set.

I've tried this exact thing a two different NAPA stores here in San Diego & they have had issues.

I told them I wanted Spicer PN 260's, 297's, 760's, 1310's, 1330, 2-2-1379, 2-2-1378 etc. After they fumble through their catalog for several minutes I get the "deer in the headlights" look.

Seems they have a "new" catalog and crossing things over so they can order them by NAPA number is the issue.

I plan on getting warn inners for my hub conversion and am debating on the 760's or These I'd rather bust a u-joint that a locker or gears though.

it is difficult to say...
i have the ctm's, but it is primarily to insure the expensive warn axles.
warn will warranty their axles for damage provided it is not due to a u-joint failure.
in the yj the gears are reverse cut on the high pinion 30 which makes them better off than the lp 30 on a tj.

chances are if you break a u joint, the axles will be toast too.
the 8 dollar u joint can quickly do 400 dollars damage.
