  • Taking the doors off my '95 Wrangler...?

Alright, I got my license a little over a month ago. I have had my 1995 Jeep Wrangler for almost a year, when we got it it needed work, a little project for my father and I. I love the thing and even though its a '95, I like it as much as any other car. Last summer my father and I tried to take the doors off and had no luck at all. It doesn't say anything about it in the manual, but I'm pretty sure you can take them off, correct? Anyway, can anyone give a little explanation or give a link to directions...thanks everyone...

EDIT: Sorry for posting in the wrong section...

Look at the top hinge point on the door. On the bottom of that is a nut, take it off (bear in mind that you're working upside down) (righty tighty, lefty loosey). One nut per door. Spray a little WD-40 on the pins, and lift straight up.

BTW - the door WILL be heavier than you think....

Bear in mind as a new driver that "vehicle with no doors" translates to most cops as "take a GOOD look at this one"

Enjoy. Just don't buy a set of bubba foot pegs...........

And don't apologize for having a 95 - it WAS after all the last of the jeeps with real springs!

No problem - enjoy. I have the (soft) doors on about 2 months a year.

Other than that - what doors???
