    Try changing your oil filter.

    Your oil filter has a valve in it that keeps oil in the filter w/o the engine running. Often these leak or go bad.(Fram filters are the worst for this problem).

    When it lets the oil leak out the engine will run w/o oil pressure for a few seconds.

    Everytime a lifter goes across the cam lobe w/o oil pressure the cup will sink a little, eventully letting the pushrod "float" and this is what makes the clicking noise.

    Once the pressure comes up the lifter pumps back up and the noise goes away.

    As I mentioned the Orange filters are by far the worst.

    K&n and I'm sure they make others.

    Wix, Baldwin, Hastings are also good but can be hard to find. The Motorcraft filters Wallmart has are made by purolator and are an execelent filter also.

      I got a quote for a complete motor rebuild.............2,000$, with a new clutch. Sound reasonable???
