  • Annoying squeeky sounds

    Since I did this:

I have had a squeeky noise coming from somewhere. I thought it was just my belt, but I'm beginning to think otherwise. I can only hear it when it's idling and I'm close to the front of the Jeep. Last night, I noticed that it squeeks for a couple seconds after I shut the engine off. What could be causing a noise after I shut it off? I'm also experiencing some difficulty in shifting gears and my clutch seems to be a little more sticky than it used to.

Could it possibly be something with my clutch/throw out bearing since it was totally submerged in water? Thanks for any suggestions...I know, I know, I need to change all my fluids

    squeeky sound = fan

Shifting problems = clutch assy or transmission (change fluid).

I never even thought about the fan causing the noise. That's where the noise is coming from, too. I should have figured that out....the fan is the only thing that would still be turning when I shut the engine off, DUH to me.

Do the 5 speeds take ATF +4 like the t-case or did they use a different fluid for the tranny?
