  • CJ: Steering Gear

Going to change my steering gear and found some have went to a 98' Durango box. Looks like almost direct replacment, anyone done this or seen it?

Doesn't a CJ7 have 4 mounting bolts on the steering box?

Yes they do, I had to go look, but if you add a brace it should be good right? From what I read they are bigger and a better steer ratio then the CJ box. Looks like I would have to change the colume connection to a manual steer

          No PS on your CJ?
An XJ will always cost you less then any girl ever will, and you will always know when the spark is gone.

Yeah it has PS, but the Durango box has a dif spline from the colume so ya got to use a manual connecter
