i have no idea whats going on with my Xj one day after i come home from work. the next day it wont start so i figured the batteries dead so i charge it for a good while then it still wouldnt start so i replace the battery still no go. so im scratching my head thinkin what the hell. replaced the crank position sensor and an tore apart the steering column. my dad thinks that the dist isnt getting any spark but other than that were lost soo plz help id like to get it back out on the trails

Dennis when you crank it and there is power to the coil on the positive side does the wire on the negative side of the coil make a test light flicker? Also does it active the injectors? Same kinda test with a test light or a noid light across the injector plug does it flicker while cranking? Or simpler test yet does the fuelpump start running if you crank it for a bit longer time?
