I am having Freeway Dan help throw my Borla header in tomorrow. I would have bought the one the 6spd posted in the top of this thread if Borla didn't replace it for free. Good luck!

I just followed up Danny (FreewayDan) and he said of course it is taking longer than they thought... its a jeep i guess mine was all welded together so they had to cut some things. I will let ya know... hopefully i have it back in a few more hours and I can drive it around this weekend!!

When you say Dan is helping, that means your do'n most of the work. Sounds like, he's do'n it all. Come on Brett. Roll up the sleeves on your dress shirt and get your hands dirty.
It was like that when I got here.

Cool man. Cracked headers suck. You will be happy now.

ok, Ive had a borla and several banks crack. Finally, banks came out with a supposedly new design. They installed it for free after several of thiers went bad. Everytime it would crack they would replace but I was stuck swapping it out. PITA. So far so good. I just expect to swap headers every year or so, so get one with at least a lifetime warranty. A member stated that they crack no matter what: He's right.

Dont waste your money on that expensive header. You will notice little to no performance gain. Just get the header posted earlier in this thread its a good price for what looks like a quality piece. http://www.ineedparts.com/auto-parts...-manifold.html Unless you planning on porting the exaust port, put bigger valve and a bigger cam a high dollar header isnt going to make a bit of difference. The heads got to flow first in order for the header to flow. BTW my stock 97 header I believe is original and hasn't cracked yet.

I haven't dyno'd mine yet but I must say the my exhaust sounds mean. It is the same I had before (Borla), but i did feel a big difference recently when I added the 62mm TB. I have a 99+ intake that Warlock is going to have ported and polished for me. It may not do much now but one day I may do a stroker and will already have the wires, coil, chip, header, intake, TB to put on it. All part of the constant "upgrade game" And once you buy a Borla or Banks it is nice that if it does crack you get a new one for free. However, if I didn't already have the Borla I would have bought the low cost one listed above. High flow cat and Flow Master Muffler also make a huge difference.

The only problem I see with that header is that it's design has been replicated over and over even with stronger stainless and still crack, then usually there warranties are garbage. I would rather spend a little mor coin on something that has been redesigned with the cracking issue in mind. Plus they have a tried and true warranty. I live in the south bay anyone know of a good shop or want to give a hand to install the header I can pay cash and or food/beer. Tia

i can attest that Banks has the best warranty available. No issues ever. If its cracked its replaced. Good job with the Borla Brett.
