Starter/alternator shop in the high desert

I had to have a starter rebuilt last week and went over to R&R on Industrial and they were out of business! Sign on the door said they were in business for 35 years. Nice folk. There was another place in Apple Valley, but they were also out of business.

Found another shop, but down in Riverside. Riverside Alternator and Starter on Indiana. Nice guy. Has been there over 25 years.

The high desert is sure hurting.........

I wonder if you can still get parts to rebuild it yourself? Rebuilding starters alt and carbs is one of the first things I learned 25 years ago in auto shop. I guess now in this day and age its cheaper to get a replacment at the local autoparts. Everywhere is hurting right now thousands of vacant businesses here in Rancho too.
