Ya, it does look about hte same... wierd. I trimmed 1.5" off my flairs. I was told when I bought the jeep that it had a 2.5" rock crawler lift... maybe it is more? I dunno how to tell.
here ya go, this is 2.5" lift the old school way with leafs, fender mods, and a cutoff wheel. Low and Slow like a car with hydro's and pimping 13" wires.
Geebo, When you get a chance, would you mind measuring from your frame to the ground in 3 or 4 different places?
After looking at your jeep, I'm starting to think I may have the 3.5" lift instead of the 2.5" lift. - Wouldn't suprise me, When I rotated the tires after buying the heep, I discovered there were Alloy USA Chromolly axles in the rear end. The previous owner had no clue what he had.
To find out how much lift you have, measure your springs from where they meet the top and bottom isolators or coil buckets, with all the weight of the Jeep on the ground. A stock TJ's springs measure out to approximately 12" up front and 8" in the rear. Subtract those measurements from what yours are, and you have an APPROXIMATE lift height.
Pretty cool tip!! I,ve got 17 up front and 12 and 3/4 in the rear I think the front,s a hair higher because just had heavy duty control arm brackets welded on ...just what I,m thinkin not for sure..Oh and (DIRT) /Chris do ya still need me to measure the frame from the ground up or does the other measurment help??
