1980 CJ7 258 stock
Time to get a another 258 engine for my 1980 CJ7.
I have 2 rebuilds on mine, and have been told not to go more than 40 over on the bore, else overheaing problems.
The 1980 uses a #077 block and a #258 head. After looking, it appears this engine set is only used in 1980.
I am looking for a 1980 long block in Georgia to build that has 20 over bore or less.
Could take a torn down buildable head and block, if in good shape.
I want to keep this thing original with this same year engine. I have had since new and everthing else is original but tires and wheels.
I have found some assembled long blocks online, but not sure of the builders and the shipping and core charges really jack the price up.
I live in Georgia and close to home would be great so I can go get it.
