  • tj power steering pump

My power steering pump is now leaking and soon to be history. Ive got a 99 tj 4.0 and want to just upgrade but psc is just too pricy for me now. How else makes thses beefier pumps at more affordable prices. Any options? Thanks for your help.

Are you upgrading the rest of your steering? If not I would just stay with the stocker. It's not a bad pump and it is affordable.

I've heard that the 5.9 grand's pump has better internals. May be like the old GM stuff and be able to swap pumps into other brackets. Worth looking into.

As far as rebuilds go stay away from ones rebuilt by A-1 Cardon. Nothing but problems from that rebuilder.

I think A-Zone is the only place around that does not use A1.

im in the same boat as you. except mines not leaking its screaming bearings! considered a PSC but at 400 bucks i'll pass for now.

scottys wants 130 bucks for a pump thats been sitting in a yard for god knows how long. napa has em for 80 bucks with a core.
                i'll be getting mine tomorrow.

when the time comes i'll do a psc hydro assist but for now, with the economy and my current F#$#$# up life, its a napa replacement.

sounds pretty cheap for a pump. should be an easy swap as well.

You could also send it back and wait for the TJ specific kit that should be available soon.
