    does anyone know the tooth count for 4:10's

    We do if you know your tire size.

    Edit: Sorry, I thought the OP was asking for a tooth count for the speedometer gear. He needs the tooth count for the R&P gearset.

      i run 33's going to look at a d30 supposed to be 4:10's cant i just count the ring & pinion to make sure?

        If it's an open axle, do this to tell if what its ratio is.

        Rotate one of the wheels precisely two revolutions & count the number of turns the pinion shaft rotates. If the pinion rotates 4.1 times, the ratio is 4.10. It's only one revolution of the tire if there is a locker present inside the axle but if it's an open axle, it is two revolutions of either of the wheels that will rotate the pinion gear a number equal to the ratio.

            If they are stock spicer gears the tooth count is stamped on the ring gear, see the post you responded too on the transfercase and XJ dana 44 axle in the one pic you can see the tooth count stamped on the ring gear

                    Mitch, i just went to the dentist today for a partial, so my tooth count is climbing!!!!! i live up here too so i know what your saying. must be something in the water.


                    Thanks everyone for your input, picked up the d30 today. it is 4:10 gotta get rid of the 307's on 33's

                      That's how I did it... No sense in playing with pinion depths and spacers if Jeep was nice enough to do it for me
