I've been meaning to do this one for years. Still haven't done it, but it's supposed to work well.

It does work well. That the kill-switch I use.

That's a nice way to disable the Jeep. Daless has done a good job with his writeup, as usual.

If that particular method is too complex for some to attempt, you can also simply subsitute a simple SPST switch (a basic on-off switch) for his cool magnetically actuated relay circuit. The downside to this simpler method is that it would no longer be completely stealthy or automatic, though you can still disguise or hide the switch. Disguising the switch can be nothing more than labeling it to appear unrelated to what it really does... like labeling it "Compressor", "Lights", "Locker", etc.

The SPST on-off switch would simply be wired into the same ASD relay wiring as the above writeup uses to disable the engine. Simply cutting the wire going to the ASD relay's control coil and carefully (use care to do this job well) splicing the SPST on-off switch into the ASD relay's control coil circuit is all it takes.

Also, be sure to use a robust good quality on-off switch, you don't want to trust a cheap Radio Shack switch for this particular use.

Everything I used to create the magnetic kill switch came from Radio Shack and it's been going strong for over 3 years! That said, buy the "good" switch from Radio Shack, not the "cheap" one. (Or get marine/aviation grade from the interweb tubes)!

Same here with my CJ-7. 4 "trys" in 25 yrs, caught the last AH and held'em for the PO-PO.
Mine "cuts" the coil gnd wire, all it does is crank.
Have a KS on our FI rigs too. it "cuts" the fuel pump.
All you need is some wire and a SPST switch.
