My Radiator is a few years old and I noticed that it's starting to seep a tiny bit in two places along the solder joint where the upper section is connected to the core section. It only leaks a tiny bit after the engine is warm and the cooling system is under presure.
The solder looks like regular 50/50 solder. Has anyone ever tried to re-solder a radiator themselves? I have a map gas tourch and some 50/50 solder. It seems that if I lowered the coolent level below the leak and cleaned the area really well, and re-soldered the areas in question it should work.
Is this something that should be done by a radiator shop?
Is there anything I'm missing?
