  • Valve Cover Repair

I was wondering how difficult it was to replace my Valve Cover gasket? I've noticed some oil leaking from there, not much, but enough that i think it need to be replaced. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

Sometimes they just need a little retightning(sp?)Try a 1/8" to 1/4" turn on the bolts, clean it up and check it after a run to the store for beer. They do tend to seep a little but if its real wet then look for a good replacment,I like the rubber one's myself. They aren't hard to replace just time consuming.

I've done everything under the sun to stop mine from leaking. So far the best luck I've had is with the gasket sealer in the aerosol can that you can use within an hour. Make sure both surfaces are spotless & oil free.

This is my fix for a 4.2L CJ7. I guess I don't know if that will work on a newer Jeep.

Great, thanks guys. I'll try tightening first; if thats doesn't work, I think i'm going for the aerosol sealer. Thanks
