  • Adding Sentry Key Immobilizer to your Jeep

I decided to add the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) to our 2002 Wrangler. We had a dealer installed alarm, which we were really bad about setting. The nice thing about the SKIM is it's always on. And since we never leave anything of value in the Jeep anyway, it's a perfect fit for us. My biggest fear is waking up to an empty spot in the driveway! Here's the write-up: http://www.myjeeprocks.com/feature/a...y-immobilizer/

      A great mod for sure.

This was standard on my 02 Sahara then I added LoJack for even more piece of mind.

      Cheers, B&T TJ

I would imagine the only way for it to be put in a YJ is for that YJ to have a 98+ computer, harnesses, steering column.

It seems people are getting desperate. I don't want to take the chance and for about $150-$175 I can make sure the Jeep stays put in the driveway (or at least down the street).

I put the Master Lock unit on mine. Seems to work fine. I tested it at about 50 feet and the jeep wouldn't start.http://www.mastersentryseries.com/starter/index.shtml

I like that. Im not sure if it will work on my YJ. Is the starter relay the same on the TJ? The website only lets you select vehicles 1996 and newer.

You just need to find the right relay type and then part number... I bought one (amazon.com marketplace) and it turned out to be a relay type I don't have. Luckily I was able to ship it back. I want to find them in person, because I don't trust ordering them online since nobody seems to know the relay pin-out and only goes by vehicle make/model/year.
