Question about rear seat "pins" on my YJ

Here is a strange one. Well to me at least. The rear seats has (2) pins that hold it in place. They are missing. I called the dealer and they don't make them anymore. They had no clue how to help us. Our two options are to drill it bigger and nut/bolt it or weld it.

Anyone with ideas?

How big are these pins(wide x long)?Did you try Lowes or the other hardware stores?

Not yet. They are small in diameter. Like needle pin small.

What year? Sometimes that makes a difference. I have a 88YJ and the old back seat is in the garage and I can check it out.

Are you missing the pin that the seat pivots forward on, or the retaining pin?

Retaining pin. Keeps it from being removed (slidding to the side to be removed). I picked up a few at lowes (wasn't sure of size). Not sure if they will work or the big question strong enough (if needed).

No strength required in that pin - it's just there to keep the big one from sliding out. You can use a cotter pin if you can't find the factory style (which can be had at McFaddendale Hardware or McMaster Carr)
