• Was just a little bit bored today

I was just a bit bored today so started tearing my Jeep apart to add a bit of extra protection

Going to git er done tomorow, actually the cage is back in the floor plates are welded back on, just need to make a nice sandwich plate for the underside and make a mount for the windshield. Put some paint and padding on and it's good to go

Is that piece of diamond plate alum back there big enough for a dash panel?

    I got an idea.

It might be Nick, I guess I could cut a slice off. I want to use it to make a panel behind the seats, don't really the whole thing. Give me a measurement of what you need

Dang Art! Nice work so far!

After you get done, and if you find yourself bored again, I'm close by and Mr. Green needs a better cage.

Ha Mike, you need something to do when bored though.
Fred pointed me to this front cage kit from this place http://www.swracecars.com/Files/pdf/CATpg22.pdf
Not terribly expensive with shipping and what not still under 300 bucks

Coolness, Art. Heck, welding some angle iron to the windshield frame would be an improvement, but I like that much better . Get some saddle gussets for it--they will make it much tougher. They don't look fancy, but they will make a much stronger joint than will a plate style gusset.

The front will be done Friday morning come hell or high water. The rear might be another week or so.
Got in my mind what I want to do with that

Welded a plate underneath with 2 spacers inside of it so the floorplate of the cage sandwiches the 2 layers of the floor nicely
