  • T-Case linkage slipping

I got an NP231 upgraded to a TeraLow 4:1 recently. I also have a 5.5" Rubicon Express Long Arm kit with the t/c raised a bit.

My t-case & stock linkage works fine in 2wd, but pops out of gear in 4H & 4L. A little bit of gear grinding. We're pretty sure it's a linkage adj prob, but we've disconnected the whole linkage and adj it, but it still won't hold the gear??

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I repair those transfer cases all of the time. Sounds like the shift fork inside may be bent or damaged or missing the teflon guides. It will have to be disassembled to inspect.

In fact I will have one apart on Monday at my shop if you want to see one disassembled. I am installing a 4to1 and a 2wd low teraflex kit along with a slip yoke eliminator kit.

Aw man! Can you post some pics of the job? I've always wanted to see one of those done.

Well we got it fixed. The Mode Shift Ring was installed backwards. We tore back into the case, flipped it around and we're done. I could still use a linkage kit from Novak, becuz the stock one is pretty weak, but either way i'm done!! Thanx for your help.
