  • CJ Upgrades

Between school, work and the Grandkids I finally got started on my long over due upgrades.

    Brakes
I have always hated the lack of not being able to stop,(Lock my tires up) or Winching through my brakes.

So I purchased a Hydro brake setup from Parts mike Great Guy.

Not finshed but heres what I got so far

    Before

    After

        Questions:

Is this set-up going to run off your stock PS pump?

Does it work with your stock PS box?

The reason I ask, is that I pulled all the same stuff from a military CUCV, but was advised to get the PS box & PS pump in order to make the system run correctly. It would appear from the Parts Mike advertisement that this is not the case. Getting those parts is what was holding me up from installing this on the CJ. Well that, and I think I'd blow the drum brakes right part.

LOOKIN GOOD! I like the rust too  but there's nothing quite like that new parts smell.

Time will tell, for the stock pump. Going from 1200psi braking pressure to 2500psi Braking pressure. Not sure if I'm going to need the full effect.
Stu Olsons website is where I got alot of info.

The stock steering box as far as I know will not be an issue.

amc 20 Rear disc brakes started today

Had to take a break from Physics, so I went shopping!

              Pick and pull
2 rear calipers from 1989 Lincoln Mark VII $20 each

              Kragen
              2 1983 cj7 front rotors $37 each
I need to have the center hole widen by 1/4" to fit the flange.

              Quadtech
              2 replacement axle bearing kits.

I need to make a bearing retainer plate to replace the drum backing plate and some caliper brackets

So what do you think so far?
