I'll be around, most likely working on the Jeep.

I need to be at least at a 1 to 1 ratio with wrenchin' and wheelin'. Recently I've spent way too much time on the wrenchin' and not nearly enough time wheelin'.

Gettin' close . . . Stabalizer and shock relocators are in . . . now it's just down to the adjustable rear trackbar and bracket. Anybody know what length I should start out with on the trackbar for a 4" lift where the rear is off to one side by 1/4"?

Center the axle and adjust the track bar to fit. Should be snug. No slop.
Different ways of centering the axle, but if you have a couple af big freinds that can push the body over you can do it that way. I used my winch and snatch block. You'll have to figure out how to do that one on your own.

So I should have the Jeep on the ground then . . . with the wheels on, where do you find the best place to measure to get an accurate reading? Also once you push the body over to get the axle centered, will it stay there or will pressure have to be kept on it, while you install the track bar? How many buddies should be on hand:dunno: sounds like I'll need to make some calls and buy some beer/pizza!!!

He's right, that is the best way to do it. Do it at ride height with the weight on it and it's a one shot deal. You'll need something to hold it in place, like a come-a-long or ratchet strap. You can probably get away with measuring it from the inner or outermost tire tread blocks to a center spot on a crossmember. You can probably do it yourself, but it's good to have the extra guys around to give things a shove/save your ratcheting arm.

                    • I don't want to jinx myself, but I think I'm set! Thanks to the MJR Crew for all the help and advice and a special thanks to Josh, Rick, David, and Lawrence . . . you guys ROCK and I owe you all big time Got the new bracket and rear trackbar installed today which really seems to make a difference. I also dropped my tire pressure to about 28 psi and cruising home I was doing 75 MPH (which is probabaly 80 with the 33's) and it felt great . . . not as smooth as Lawrence's but as good or better than it was before I broke the bank! Can't wait to hit the trail now Hope to see you all out there!

                      • Nah, you're never set. Nothing better than working on a Jeep in what felt like 120*... Good to know it rode better with the lower pressure. With the pressure you had and driving your Jeep, I now have to make an appointment with my chiropractor. Now, you need to go out and scratch it up a bit.
