  • New Jeep Build

    Get Ready . . .

    2000 TJ 4.0/Auto

Plan: Tear down, build, tear down (clean and paint), reassemble. I hope to remember to take lots of pics along the way.

Plans are not 100% yet. The goal is to have a very well sorted Jeep, built correctly without the constraints of the body.

The axles are going to be out of my old Jeep, HPD30/D44. Wheelbase will hopefully turn out in the 100 inch range.

I like the duct tape on the passenger side.
This will be a cool thread to follow.

cool...it looks almost as ugly as your current jeep and you haven't even driven it yet.

j/k...good luck. "without constraints of the body"...hmm...sounds like you mean "rock buggy"?

            03 TJ. It'll go 65mph...can't complain.

Firstly, the Jeep is pristine. Except for the torn soft top and blown engine. No dents, no damage, even the stock skids underneath are perfect.

Secondly, what he means about "without the constraints of the body" is that he intends to build it while the tub is off

Itll probably be a while until Chris has a Jeep again.

I might have one for you too if Chris is keeping his. I have a tummy tuck that may go on my jeep, but may not. I'll PM you if/when the tummy tuck goes on a jeep and let you know what stock center skid I have left over. It will either be a 1997 TJ or a 2005 LJ. The 05 one won't work for you, but mine will.

Cool project for you Chris. I don't recall if I saw what your other TJ looked like before you wheeled it. You tired of looking at all the pretty marks?
