  • What can brown do for you???

He can (somewhat unexpectedly) drop this off:

I'll post pictures/notes/etc when it gets installed.

Thanks Rick@GenRight (new2image) for a heck of a deal and not yankin' me around too much!

It seems good customer service is hard to find with aftermarket vendors. Rick was very friendly and got the cage to me in decent time. He even offered to drive it to the Calico Cleanup so I could save shipping (we were both already going). How's that for customer service? Had it not been for a part being missing from the kit the GenRight product manager might have let the kit leave GenRight incomplete and ship the missing part later.

I was originally planning on ordering the cage from Poly Performance because their website price was listed a little lower than GenRight (same cage). I canceled my order with Poly because I had some "issues" with them. :thumbs_do (PM me for details if you're interested).

Before you order anything give Rick@GenRight a call (805) 584-8635 and see what he can do for you!

Not really 'tie in'. It has tabs (not yet welded on in that pic) that holds the windshield up. The windshield has no strength compared to the cage itself. Also to note, that picture of "done" is just tack welded and no where near done. That is without the seat belt "bungs" and many other things. I didn't get a completely "done" picture.

Many thanks to the fabulous welder for working hard over Easter weekend to get this in for me.

Nope... I was looking at Poly Performance, and ended up going GenRight. Complete replacement, really good cage. It's well designed, the gaps where tube was notched were very small (once we figured out some things by trial-and-error) and installation went (mostly) well. HORRIBLE DIRECTIONS!!!! (Well... no directions at all really, only an exploded view of the parts which only helped a tiny bit.)

More "opinions" and pictures in my up and coming write-up and following posts.

Desert Jewel got a rockhard cage, I think it's a nice sport cage, it looks nice and goes in easy enough. Fit was perfect for her jeep and that means alot... I don't weld, so I am thinking of going with the rockhard stuff myself... depends on if they will give me stickers or not...
