  • My Jeep Leaks in the rain???????

    Hey folks,

I need your knowledge please; I have a 2000 TJ. I've always parked it in the garage but lately i've left it in the driveway. As you know, it' been raining lateley.

When i came out to my Jeep, i had lots of water in the driver and passenger foot area (where your feet go). I thought i just spilled water so i cleaned it. But tonight it happened again. I can't figure out where its coming from. i checked for leaks but don't see any. There's a little moisture under the door rubber surrounding but i could'nt imagine that much getting in.

Can you share your knowledge or past experience please before i'm forced to go to the dealer.

    Thanks,

    Roy

I remember hearing something about a 'drain' thing that you can simply put a 90 degree elbow on to eliminate some leaks on the front floor. I'll see if I can find you a link. I don't remember what year of jeeps it affected.

    EDIT:
    Here's some links:

I don't know if DC fixed the leak issue on the TJ's or not. But on my YJ, water would leak in from the bottom of the windshield. I had to lower the windshield and I ran a bead of silicone along the entire bottom. It worked. No leaks until last Thursday. But the soft top was no match for that hard rain.

Get used to it. Trash the carpet and put a liner in it.

            Well,

I never had a leak until I read this post. Now the driver side carpet is wet with the rain and also it looks like a leak at the front window gasket. It's OK, I didn't any problems for a whole day before this. HA!
