Yes, it is.

That being said, the skid plate is relatively thin gauge and if you expect it to support anything more (I.E. traction bar) then you should re-enforce it with some extra steel.

I tend to have 3/16" thick stuff laying around the garage. IMO it is a good trade off between strength and weight.
