  • Building my own rockers

I have been looking for a few things for the last little while, suchs as halfdoors and rocker guards. and well so far i have been SOL on both. so im going to build my own rocker guards, and worry about the doors come summer. But i have no idea where to mount, or even where to start!! im sure someone here has built their own and was hoping for some advice. i have a 91 YJ.

frame or body mount? If you want to do frame mount, I am no help. But if you want body mounted rockers, I can help you with some suggestions.

Go with body mount. Much easier, just as effective. Listen to Chris (DUKE) he knows of what he speaks...

If you want I'll send you some pics of the rockers I just made. I just installed them today along with some tube fenders I made for the rear. Rockers are easy to make and you don't need a lot of trick tools. But some good welds are essential.

This I got to see. Kurt, you going to post the pictures here? My handmade rockers is from materials laying around the yard. One 4' x 3x8x1/4 angle with a couple of 4" x 4x4x3/8 angles welded to it bolted to the frame. I am sure the guys with the real rockers would laugh at it. But it works for now, and didn't cost me anything.

well i plan on rock guarding (bed liner) the entire jeep. so if it isnt pretty no one will know, and if it is pretty, no one will know, hahaha. its a win win situation. and has anyone else done this?? not that i have seen it done but i think it would look killer
