Nice work. Are those clamps from McMaster? I was thinking of building a hold down like that for my cans.

Final phases. Tire carrier is done and painted. Found the correct texture paint for this make of tire carrier so it looks like a store bought, but ain't.

I like your paint table. It more useful to you then the owner.

And the nice thing is, by the time I'm done painting everything the Old CJ will look like new!

looking really good Kurt! I have the "Real" one on my YJ. It looks like you improved the tire carrier mounting point. Mine keeps breaking the small stud that is supposed to keep the pin from moving. I doubt yours will have the same problem.

When I looked at the pictures online of this set up I was wondering how that little hinge point held up. It looks kinda wimpy, but apparently does the job. As usual I went overboard with the beef. We'll see how this one holds up.

Tomorrow night I'll post pics of this thing installed. One thing I didn't show is a hi-lift jack mount. That will show up in the final pics.

Why do you say that? Actually I'm not making any money, I'm bartering for something. But I always make money on the stuff I build. Unless it's for me, then I loose my ass...

Bumpers on! I have to wait for some touch up paint to dry before I put the tire carrier on. More pics in a few hours.

On to the next thousand projects....

I made a double shear bracket to add to the tire carrier rigidity. I'm pretty sure you can hang a side of beef off that tire carrier...
