    Did some work. A buddy cut out some rock rings on a water jet. I welded them up and installed the tires.



    1994 Toyota, dual cases, 5.29 axles with ARB's

    Nice looking Sammy.

    So, a rock ring, just protects the wheels and valve stem. But is not a beadlock?

    They look good. Wish I had a friend with a water jet.
    It was like that when I got here.

      All it does is protect and stiffen the lip of the rim where the tire bead seals, also protects the tire valve. It's biggest use is to protect the rim lip

        I am not worried about blowing a bead with these tires and rims. The outer side is about 3" wide so if I blow a bead, the tire would probably be trashed anyways. When I put the tires on, all I did was put air in them. The bead did require any moving of the tire.
