  • bumper for the CJ5

so I decided to spend a few hours making a bumper for the 5. Turned out real nice if I must say so myself.
now to hook up the winch, drill the shackle mount holes, oh mount the lights
    but here it is

      thanks, it is a 67
picked it up about 6 months ago
I have put disc up front and 11 inch in the rear, dual stage MC
Rebuilt the t14 and d18 shoved in a D30 and full floated the rear D44, detroits both ends
need to make a new bumper carrier for the rear and switch it over to propane conversion, but my 70 CJ6 project starts real soon so I will wheel it as it is this summer and get the CJ6 conversion to a TJ6 done.

not talking shit or nothing but the bumper looks kinda plain like its missing something plus it sits really low. could just be the pic though.

sits strait out from the frame, normal height, and yes it looks plain, that is the point. It does not have all the extra get in the way junk the more popular styling has. it holds 4 lights, has a receiver hitch holds the fairlead for the winch on a tower in front of the winch and is not in the way of the front tires so they can be put on rocks more easily.
Show me the one you made.:beer:

She needs One project to get on trail, I need to reverse the brake lines in the master cylinder. Seems they are reversed and my front disc are on the side with the check valve and rub constantly. Besides that all future projects are secondary to her build.
I now have both axles built. with Detroits, rear is full floating, I need to find a set of those Warn Axles Fuses for the rear as I put disco hubs on it and before doing rocks need to get the fuses/cogs to put inside, would love to find a set for the front. Oh yea and before I can do any water need to set the axles up with breathers that have extensions up into the body.
besides that she has a T14 in her now and I rebuilt the tcase, new driveshafts front and rear, sitting on the 31s off the CJ6. and need to clean up the interior and put on a bikini top. I also want to make the roll bar a cage. know anyone with a pipe bender?

thanks, looks easy enough to do, I also like that top, I have a Bestop Tigertop, but it does not have that stout of spreaders. That looks like a nice top.

I like clean and simple, light as possible and tuff as nails. Style is not the idea, pure function is.
My TJ was the same way
