Well awhile back I posted that I was going to build a Hi Lift Hood Bracket for my CJ7. I guess it's been removed so this new thread is an update on that project.
SAR Jeeper and a few others asked for photos so here they are:
Please note that both the angle iron bracket that bolts to the hood hinge faces towards the front of the jeep. Also the cross member also faces the front.
Originally I faced them towards the windshield thinking it would be stronger. I discovered that I was unable to lift the hood high enough to use the hood support rod.
If you look closely you will see that I used a spacer between the two angle iron pieces. It turns out that it's not needed for clearance to hold the hood up. I haven't got around to removing them yet.
Finally for extra performance, a MJR decal was added. (Yes it's off center so just shut up about it
)
