The F head has a 3 speed trans on the floor with a PTO I do not know if the Transfer is divorced. Thinking about the cost of putting in a v6 The four needs a battery and distrubuter cap Is it a 12 volt or 6? Does Kragen have a cap for the 56? It sat for a lot of years I figure if I can start it I will put-put around in it. I know all the fluids should be flushed and refilled.

Is the transfer case bolted directly to the tranny or is it bolted to the frame and connected to the tranny with a short drive shaft? If it's divorced, it's really easy to swap an engine/tranny combo in there if you don't want to restore the 4 banger.

      divorce shadly transfer case

The transfer is connected to the tranny the PTO I think is connected to the transfer by driveshaft In one of the forums someone said I have a 6 volt system
      ( a 56 willy's 4 banger I guess so)
The Willy's trans shaft to a ford 6 clutch I wonder if it would fit or you would need a special adapter?
I will see the Willy's in about 1.5 month I can test it out for 6 or 12 volts and check out clearances for a radiator if I put a 6 in or see if it starts with a new batt. and points and cap.
