  • axle swap candidates?

I have seen somewhere that people use ford explorer 8.8s..... is this front and back? I was thinking it may be because of a right sided pumpkin(which im not sure but thats what i was thinking would be the reason). I didnt even know there was a 4x4 explorer.

anything else stronger than the amc 20's that you can use without swapping transfer cases?

I am new and just looking around to some cheaper alternatives for now. Eventually I want to go with a completely aftermarket setup... but now just want to put put around on some big ass tires

i have an 8.8 rear. i had it welded up for my tj, when i replaced d35. i didn't go with a d44 because i didn't want to be held back again because of my axle.

If you have an offset AMC20, you can look for an offset D44 for the rear. The Ford 8.8 is a "centered" pumpkin.
